Winners of three of their last four games, the Suns have been playing well and will need to keep winning if they want to be part of the playoffs this season. They certainly looked like playoff contenders in last night’s game against the Rockets as they won by 112-105 behind 20 points and 15 rebounds from Marcin Gortat and 18 points and 10 assists from Steve Nash. Jared Dudley also had a good night, scoring 18 points, but Grant Hill looked seriously rusty, scoring just seven points in 25 minutes in his return to the court. The Suns now sit just one game behind eighth-placed Denver with just seven games left to play.
Meanwhile, the Spurs are sitting in second place in the Western Conference with their 41-16 record and are coming off a meaningful 107-97 win against the Grizzlies in their last outing. Tony Parker had a rough game by his standards, finishing with 13 points and nine assists, but Tim Duncan put in a vintage performance, scoring a season-high 28 points and 12 rebounds. Head to head, the Spurs took both meetings this season and have won the last five meetings in San Antonio. In terms of ATS trends, the Suns are 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
