Bulls vs. 76ers

DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- It seemed almost unthinkable that the Chicago Bulls could be in this spot.

Yet here they are, trailing the Philadelphia 76ers 3-1 in the first round and trying to avoid elimination as they return home for Game 5 on Tuesday night.

If the Bulls lose, they will be just the fifth No. 1 seed to fall to an eighth seed. It would also give Philadelphia its first series victory since 2003, a scenario few envisioned when the postseason started.

"It's been a crazy year from beginning to right now," guard Richard Hamilton said Monday. "We know that."

They also realize it'll take a wild comeback for them to advance, particularly given their injuries. They lost Derrick Rose for the remainder of the season to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee late in the series opener, and center Joakim Noah will likely sit out his second straight game because of a sprained left ankle, leaving them without two of their leaders.

Indian Still Needs One more Win

The series isn’t over—Indiana still needs one more win to move on to the next round of the NBA playoffs. But it’s not too early to ask the question.

How good are the Pacers?

If you were the next opponent for these Pacers—especially after walking through your own first round so easily—how worried would you be?

L.A. Lakers Golden vs State Warriors basketball match preview

628x471.jpg (471×471)

Kobe Bryant is mired in a bit of a scoring slump, and the Los Angeles Lakers have had some trouble slowing down opponents. A game against the struggling Golden State Warriors could be the answer to both of those problems. Bryant and the Lakers look to continue their dominance over the Warriors Tuesday night at Oracle Arena. After winning eight of 10, Los Angeles has dropped three of five. The Lakers, who allow an average of 93.4 points and are one of the league's top rebounding teams at 45.5 per game, have given up at least 102 points in each of the last three defeats and have been outrebounded in the past two. In Sunday's 102-96 loss to Memphis, Los Angeles (30-19) allowed the Grizzlies to shoot 51.2 percent and score 52 points in the paint.

20120327_kkt_st3_416.jpg (1000×667)

In the Lakers' lone matchup of the season with the Warriors on Jan. 6, Bryant had 39 points on 13-of-28 shooting in a 97-90 win. Los Angeles has won 13 of the last 14 meetings, and Bryant is averaging 28.4 points in 16 games against Golden State since 2007-08. The Warriors will likely be short-handed for this game with Stephen Curry nursing a right ankle sprain and Nate Robinson sidelined with a strained right hamstring. Rookie Charles Jenkins started for Robinson against Portland on Sunday and finished with a career-high 27 points, but he missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer in a 90-87 loss. Rookie Klay Thompson has also done a solid job of stepping up in the wake of the Ellis trade, averaging 19.7 points in starting the last nine games.

Charlotte Bobcats vs Minnesota Timberwolves match preview

IMG_1228%25281%2529.JPG (512×374)
Minnesota Timberwolveshave lost six of their last seven games on the road, including their most recent game against Memphis. That road slumping is a big part of why they have lost their way in the playoff race after looking so close to contention before the All Star break. Fortunately, they get one of their easiest road games of the year in the spot when they need a win the most, in Charlotte.

The Charlotte Bobcats have been possibly the worst team in the league this season. Minnesota has historically struggled in Charlotte with four straight losses there, but the Cats are so awful this year that they might just be the cure for what's been ailing the Wolves.
Minnesota continues to harbor a slew of injuries going into Wednesday's game. Both Nikola Pekovic and J.J. Barea are likely to miss out on the game, and Ricky Rubio will of course continue to miss time because of his torn ACL. Kevin Love was carrying the team early in the year, but it's looking increasingly less likely that he's going to be able to carry them to the playoffs without his supporting cast.

Washington Wizards vs L.A. Lakers match preview

In a losing cause, Andrew Bynum shone for the Lakers, scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds, while Pau Gasol added 20 points and 10 rebounds, but Kobe Bryant struggled towards his 22 points on eight of 26 shooting. The Lakers are now just 6-13 on the road and have won just three of their last nine games away from the Staples Center. The Lakers have been terrible on the road all season, but the Wizards have been terrible no matter where they play. I don’t want to pick the Lakers to cover in this game simply because of the Wizards woes, but I just can’t see the Lakers dropping this game after their painful loss against the Pistons last night.
Meanwhile, the Wizards have lost seven of their last eight games and are coming off a 120-100 loss to the Warriors in their last outing. John Wall had strong outing with 20 points and 14 assists, while Nick Young had 25 points off the bench, but you’re never going to beat the Warriors if you allow them to shoot 54.2 percent from the field and 65.2 percent from the land of plenty. The Wizards have the ability to put up some nice numbers, but the problem has been their lack of attitude and effort.

Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Utah Jazz match preview

After winning back-to-back home contests over Houston and Miami, Utah (17-19) opened a season-high five-game trip with a 102-96 loss to Dallas on Saturday. Paul Millsap had 24 points and shot 11 of 17 for the Jazz, who trailed by as much as 23 in falling to 3-13 away from home. That has been an ongoing problem on the road for Utah, which is allowing an average of 103.4 points and 41.8 percent shooting from 3-point range in its last five.

A trip to Cleveland, however, might be what Utah needs to end its slide. With a 113-105 victory over the Cavaliers on Jan. 10, the Jazz won their fourth straight in the series. Al Jefferson, averaging team highs of 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds, had 30 points and 12 boards while Millsap made his first nine field-goal attempts and finished with 19 points. The Cavaliers have been experiencing their own problems lately, suffering through their longest skid since last season's NBA-record 26-game losing streak.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics 2/29 8AM GMT+8

clebos_20081028.jpg (300×308)

The Boston Celtics are going through some of their toughest times since teaming Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett with Paul Pierce prior to the 2007-08 season. With each member of the aging trio missing time this season, the team is struggling to meet expectations. The Celtics (15-17) stumbled into the All-Star break with their seventh defeat in eight games Wednesday, falling 119-104 at Oklahoma City despite 23 points each from Pierce and Garnett and 21 from Allen.

nba_g_kg_lebron2_412.jpg (412×232)

A loss in Cleveland would be Boston's 17th in 23 road games -- including playoffs -- dating back to last season, though it won 93-90 there Jan. 31, its most recent victory away from home before five straight defeats. Cavs rookie Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 21 points in that contest, though he's coming off perhaps his worst game as a pro. Irving scored only six points -- his fewest since his NBA debut -- and shot 2 of 13 in Wednesday's 89-84 loss to lowly New Orleans. Cleveland (13-18) fell to 4-4 on its longest homestand of the season, which ends Tuesday.

Golden State Warriors Orlando Magic NBA 1/13 10 AM GMT+8

Magic update: Power forward Ryan Anderson, a Cal product, is off to a hot start in his fourth season. In his first nine games, he averaged 18 points and 7.3 rebounds in 30.7 minutes -- all on pace for career highs. His 3.1 offensive rebounds per game is fifth among NBA forwards. ... Playing off All-Star center Dwight Howard, Orlando likes the floor spread to give him space. The result is the Magic averages 24.3 attempts from 3-point range per game, making 37.9 percent, sixth-best in the NBA. Anderson takes a third of those shots.

Warriors update: Golden State got its first breakout game from SF Dorell Wright on Tuesday against Miami. He scored 20 points, knocking down 6 of 11 from 3-point range. He came into the game 5 for 27 from 3-point range.

Magic injuries: PF Glen Davis (bruised left hip) is probable. F Quentin Richardson (sprained left ankle) is questionable.

Warriors injuries: Point guard Stephen Curry (sprained right ankle) is out. C Kwame Brown (injured right shoulder) is questionable. C Andris Biedrins (sprained right ankle) is day to day.- http://www.mercurynews.com

Toronto Raptors VS Sacramento Kings 12BET tips NBA 1/12 8AM GMT+8

The Sacramento Kings are still seeking their first road win of the season.

Toronto may not be the easiest place for them to get it.

The Kings attempt to bounce back from one of their worst performances of the season and beat the Raptors on the road for the first time in nearly eight years Wednesday night.

Sacramento (3-7) has lost all four of its road games, averaging 85.8 points while surrendering 109.0 per game. It was more of the same for the Kings in the opener of their five-game trip Tuesday at Philadelphia, as they shot 39.5 percent from the floor en route to a 112-85 rout.

A visit to Toronto (4-6) wouldn't appear to be the ideal way to end the road skid since Sacramento hasn't won there since Feb. 22, 2004. The Kings have dropped seven straight at Air Canada Centre since, giving up a whopping average of 111.9 points.

They lost 118-112 in their last visit to Canada on Jan. 9, 2011.

Making the task tougher for Sacramento, leading scorer Marcus Thornton (18.7 ppg) may miss a second consecutive game due to a thigh injury. Former BYU star Jimmer Fredette got his first career start Tuesday in Thornton's place, finishing with seven points, three assists and three turnovers.

"We didn't have our regular rotation so the other guys had to make adjustments," coach Keith Smart said.

Sacramento may have at least some reason for optimism after the Raptors fell 93-78 at Washington on Tuesday, losing to what had been the last remaining winless team in the NBA.

They missed 16 of 20 3-point attempts against the Wizards and committed a season-high 23 turnovers - nine more than their previous average.

"Our disposition wasn't good coming out of the locker room to begin the game," said Toronto coach Dwane Casey, whose team must now play its third game in as many days. "You start turning the ball over and you can't recover from that and you can't get set up in your defense."

Andrea Bargnani led the Raptors with 22 points and continues to be one of the few bright spots for Toronto, averaging a team-high 23.5 points - nearly nine more than DeMar DeRozan - the team's second-highest scorer.

Bargnani has come up big in the Raptors; two home victories, scoring 31 points each time while totaling 16 boards.

He's averaging 25.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in Toronto's last three home meetings with the Kings, including 30 points while shooting 12 of 19 in last season's victory.

DeRozan had 28 points in that contest. He's totaled just 31 in his last four games after scoring 11 and missing 12 of 16 shots Tuesday. - http://www.vegasinsider.com

L.A. Lakers VS Houston Rockets 12 BET preview NBA BASKETBALL: 11:30AM GMT+8

Second bet from NBA is from a meeting between two teams from Western Conference, LA Lakers and Houston Rockets a meeting that has home side the favorite to win by more then 3.5 points difference.
Note Lakers won 3 from 4 matches played at home and the lost was on last seconds against Chicago Bulls, 87-88.

Houston on the other hand played with 2 matches fewer and had a day off so are more rested and for sure with a better moral aft won against one of the most inform team, Atlanta with 95-84.
Plus last match played at home by Lakers against Houston was won by Houston after overtime with 114:106 so we can say that Kobe and the rest of the team has something to look for tonight but with the guests allowing on both matches played away from home more then 100 points I see that is a decent bet to back Lakers to win by more then 3.5 points difference because have a decent defensive as managed so far to limit at home their opponents to under 90 points. - http://www.bettingexpert.com

Asian Handicap WNBA Basketball (Final) Minnesota Lynx vs Atlanta Dream 12BET 10/3 8:30AM GMT+8

The WNBA Finals have turned into a matchup of (a) the team (Minnesota) that played the best basketball in the league all season; and (b) the team (Atlanta) that played the best basketball in the league in the final month.
Minnesota has earned a spot in the WNBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. The Lynx had never won a playoff series before coming into this postseason run. Atlanta is making its second straight trip to the WNBA Finals after getting swept last season by Seattle. The way Seattle dominated the league in 2010 is not unlike what the Lynx have done this year. Minnesota won more games than any other team, was strong both at home and on the road and has a bevy of ways to hurt the opponent, from the scoring of Seimone Augustus (averaging 20.4 points per game in the postseason), to the gritty play of point guard Lindsay Whalen, to the steady leadership of Taj McWilliams-Franklin to the explosive post play of Rebekkah Brunson. And then there's the small matter of Minnesota's strong, disciplined defensive play, among the best in the league all season.

So, for the second season in a row, Atlanta will be trying to slay the league's giant.
The Dream came into the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, but it should surprise no one that they are here, considering the way they have played over the past six weeks. After a 3-9 start attributable to injuries and absences, the Dream put it together in a big way behind third-year forward Angel McCoughtry. The Dream have lost just three games since Aug. 13 and haven't lost two straight since early July.

The Supercoppa Italiana (Italian Super Cup) is a pre-season football competition held the week before the season begins in Italy every year.
