New Zealand Breakers vs Melbourne Tigers NBL Australia National League 12BET 12/2 2:30PM GMT+8

Breakers aim to stop Tigers pulling 'Trigger'

They don't call him 'the Trigger' for nothing and it's fair to say the NZ Breakers have Melbourne Tigers gunner Cameron Tragardh in their sights ahead of tomorrow night's NBL clash at the NSEC.While most of the hype around this season's Tigers lineup has centred on their perimeter men such as imports Ayinde Ubaka and Ron Dorsey, fellow former Cairns player Daniel Dillon and the now departed Patty Mills, Tragardh has quietly emerged as Melbourne's key performer through their 6-4 start.

The 2.09m big man is averaging a league-best 18.8 points a game at a stellar 58 percent clip and backs that up with a solid 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game. With centre Matt Burston struggling with injury, he's provided admirable output at the five spot. For a team that is so focused on the three-point line and the fast break, Tragardh provides a reassuring inside presence with a game that is unorthodox, occasionally ungainly but always effective.
In the Tigers' 10 games thus far, Tragardh's offensive output has been a constant. His lowest score is 14, highest 28, and over the last four outings (around Mills' departure for China) he's stepped things up big time, running at a little over 23ppg.Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis, who discovered today he would be without guard CJ Bruton for at least the next fortnight, says Tragardh is a player you under-rate at your peril. Even if at times his awkward style sends a false message about his abilities.- http://www.stuff.co.nz/
