The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers collide for the second time in as many days from the Mile High City.In his season debut, Andrew Bynum had 29 points and 13 rebounds to power the Los Angeles Lakers past the Denver Nuggets 92-89 on Saturday afternoon. The 7-foot center was suspended without pay for the first four games of the season because of a flagrant foul in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals, however he was the difference in a back and forth battle with Denver, hitting 13-18 shots in 32 minutes of action. Kobe Byant and Pau Gasol also chipped in with 17 point apiece, while Al Harrington led Denver with 21 points off the bench.
With the win against the Nuggets, the Lakers have now won three straight and are above .500 for the first time this season, after dropping their opening two games to Chicago and Sacramento. The Nuggets on the other hand have lost two straight after winning their first two games of the season against Utah and Dallas by an average of 17 points.
Head to head, the Lakers are 1-5-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Nuggets are 10-3-2 ATS in their last 15 home games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 0 days rest and 36-16-2 ATS in their last 54 games overall. The Lakers on the other hand are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference.
The Nuggets were pretty unlucky last night to not at least take the game into overtime as Danilo Gallinari missed a wide open fast break layup with 10 seconds remaining when the Nuggets were down by a deuce. Having said that, Denver really didn’t have a great game against Los Angeles and they were still right in it at the end, and in fact they controlled the game throughout most of the second half. Having Bynum back is a big boost to the Lakers, but they always struggle in the Mile High City and something tells me the Nuggets get the revenge their looking for here-http://sportschatplace.com/
