The losses keep on piling up for a Grizzlies team that has now lost six of eight following an 11-2 stretch and are starting to slide down the Western Conference standings. Memphis was competitive in their opening two road games at Sacramento and Portland, however the same can’t be said for last night’s effort against the Clippers as they fell behind 33-17 in the first quarter and never recovered, eventually falling 101-85. Meanwhile, the Lakers secured their second straight win and seventh in their last nine games after defeating the visiting Portland Trail Blazers 103-96 on Friday night.



The Lakers have won both meetings against the Grizzlies this season, including a 116-111 overtime thriller in Memphis less than two weeks ago. With Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay out of the lineup, Memphis was in a good position to even the season series with the Lakers as they led by as many as 17 points at one stage. However, Los Angeles would turn things up in the final quarter, outscoring Memphis 26-17 to force over, where they would eventually pull away.

The Los Angeles Lakers look for their third straight victory on Sunday night as they host the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center. This is the third and final meeting this season between the two teams. The Lakers have beaten Memphis three straight times, including both matchups this season.
